THE CLUB AT ROCK CREEK

CANVAS BY NATURE, PAINT APPLIED BY WEISKOPF

Coeur d’Alene, Idaho: Amazingly over 1.2 trillion photos were taken around the world last year.

“The Club at Rock Creek’s picture album is stunning,” reported John Herndon, general manager at the private community. “But, the beauty of living here is far more than skin deep.”

When glaciers receded from the Ice Age, they carved shards of basalt rock across the rolling terrain. The soil was ideal for thick stands of lodgepole pine and quaking aspen to flourish, creating an ideal palette for a world-class golf course.

"The rugged, natural beauty of the Lake Coeur d’Alene countryside had me at hello,” exclaimed Tom Weiskopf. “I’ve been designing golf courses for a long time and I’m particular about the projects I choose. I’m exceptionally proud of the results at Rock Creek.”

The Club at Rock Creek is a private community with a Tom Weiskopf designed golf course, expansive practice facility, a dog park, nature trails, and sports courts. An added member benefit includes access to 18 Foley wineries in the Pacific Northwest, California, and New Zealand. Compared to other exclusive golf clubs in the region, Rock Creek is an affordable option to consider with smartly designed cabins on one acre of property, priced from $800,000.

“There’s nothing gimmicky about our Weiskopf design,” explained Herndon. “The routing has peeks of Lake Coeur d’Alene and holes vary from playing through open valleys to thickly forested fairway corridors. Strong ball striking is required.

“For the better part of my four decade career, I managed newly developed golf facilities in the Desert Southwest,” concluded Herndon. “Although our season at Rock Creek differs, I relished the opportunity to grow its membership base and reputation. I am eager to turn our club into a thriving community.
