TROUBADOUR GOLF & FIELD CLUB

INSPIRED BY NASHVILLE’S MUSICAL HERITAGE

Arrington, Tennessee: Thirty minutes outside Nashville, the vision for Troubadour Golf and Field Club is fast becoming a reality. One of the newest ventures of Discovery Land Company, the exclusive 700-acre community features a spectacular 18-hole Tom Fazio–designed golf course that opens in November.

“The wow factor starts at the first tee,” said Johan Kok, Troubadour’s general manager and director of golf. “There’s a major elevation drop and a waterfall just to the right of the first green. Then the course flows through the hills with gorgeous long-range views and vista changes. It’s an incredible opportunity to manage such a stunning course!”

“This is an extraordinary piece of land,” said Mike Meldman, Discovery’s founder and CEO, “with 20 miles of visibility at the top of the property. And Tom Fazio has brilliantly crafted a golf course with the perfect combination of challenge and playability.”

As for honing one’s game, “The practice facilities are amazing,” noted Kok. “We’ve added some great pieces of technology on the driving range which very few other clubs have.” Such features include a Trackman Range that connects to a giant video screen, allowing golfers to watch their favorite football games while working on their swing. The system captures an array of data about one’s golf capabilities, as well as offering games like Capture the Flag and Closest to the Pin, all connected through the user’s smart phone. “It’s another way for families and kids to enjoy the game,” continued Kok.

On the horizon is the clubhouse, a 50,000 square-foot complex that incorporates the kind of world-class amenities Discovery is known for, as well as a few that emphasize nearby Nashville’s reputation as America’s Music City. This includes a music studio and an amphitheater for concerts.

As a Discovery Land Company tradition, Troubadour features on-course comfort stations stocked with local favorite foods, both sweet and savory. In addition, the practice facility features the Sippin’ Shack—a barbecue shack with a selection of Tennessee whiskeys.

“Discovery always delivers something special,” said Kok. “I think the community in Nashville will be amazed.”
