Vibrant Alpine Club and Community Blossoms
After taking root 17 years ago in one of the most iconic mountain regions on Earth, Clear Creek Tahoe’s private club culture continues to captivate discerning players and families.
CARSON CITY, NEVADA: In 1924, Glenbrook Club opened as the first of 10 private golf clubs now located in the Lake Tahoe area. In 2009, the newest—Clear Creek Tahoe—raised the bar with a modern interpretation of the classic private mountain golf experience. Over the past 17 years, it blossomed into one of Lake Tahoe’s finest private clubs and a compelling success story, generating more than $1 billion in real estate transactions. Beyond the balance sheet, the club’s culture attracts a fully engaged, diverse membership that deeply appreciates the lifestyle built for discerning players and families with interests far broader than 18 holes.
Legacy Carried Forward
One longtime member who grew up at Clear Creek Tahoe, Matt Taylor, is now one of the managing partners. He was a teenager when the project was first announced, tagging along for meetings with his father and watching the vision materialize. Today, he continues to strengthen that legacy through a deep personal connection to the club.
“I’m proud of the culture we’ve built here. It has come about organically and has helped us maintain a consistent message,” said Taylor. “We don’t want to be all things to all people. We focus on what we do best and what best serves our members. There’s always something fun or exciting happening, formal or informal. The camaraderie, the golf, and the experiences across all of our amenities make it special.”
Coore & Crenshaw Masterpiece
At the heart of Clear Creek Tahoe is its exceptional Coore & Crenshaw golf course. Consistently ranked among the top private courses in Nevada and among the top in the nation, the layout plays up and down through mountainous terrain, across alpine meadows, along dramatic ridgelines, and around thick stands of ponderosa pines, and delivers sweeping views of the Carson Valley and distant Sierra peaks along the way.
“Designing Clear Creek was like putting together a puzzle,” said Ben Crenshaw. “Any great golf course takes the player on a journey, and I think this one is memorable. There are stout holes that demand strength and commitment. We want you to have plenty to remember from your round, but also some ideas to look forward to trying tomorrow. Clear Creek fits perfectly with our philosophy of creating golf that feels natural and not contrived.”
Signature Golf Experiences
During the summer season, club golf events fill the calendar. Competition is fierce, and all the good-natured fun, exceptional culinary experiences, and camaraderie create lasting memories. For refreshment or nourishment during the round, Swift’s Station offers locally sourced snacks and cold beverages overlooking the 10th tee. Named for an historic trail stop, this “watering hole” elevates the on-course experience. After the round, members head to Bill & Ben’s—the ultimate 19th hole, with a great patio, bar, memorabilia, and golf simulators.
Timeless Lakefront Living at Twin Pines
Twin Pines Lake & Ski House, built in 1929, was designed by famed California architect Julia Morgan, credited with 800 building designs, including Hearst Castle. Outside, across a lush lawn and beach with 180 feet of shoreline, members cruise the lake in a vintage Hinckley or a selection of other watercraft available to members. Twin Pines serves as a cherished hub that perfectly suits the unhurried pace of daily life. Families gather for carefree days of boating, swimming, and lakeside fun, while attentive staff anticipate every need. In winter, it transforms into the club’s base camp for Heavenly skiing, complete with convenient shuttles and warm fireside après-ski parties that build lasting camaraderie. No matter the season, Twin Pines becomes an integral part of the Clear Creek Tahoe lifestyle.
Family Fun at Summit Camp
Summit Camp is Tahoe’s coolest summer camp for kids and adults alike. It features a resort-style pool with a massive water slide crafted from 100-year-old reclaimed timbers, Italian clay tennis and pickleball courts, a basketball court, fire pits, and casual full-service dining. It’s the perfect place for members to relax, play, and connect.
Wellness, Adventure & Community
The club’s comprehensive wellness program offers everything from on-site fitness and spa services to member trips to exotic destinations like Africa and the Arctic Circle.
“I’m continually inspired by the genuine camaraderie among our members,” said Eric Romero, general manager. “They love the fun and challenge of our Coore & Crenshaw golf course, but it’s the full spectrum of experiences across Twin Pines, Summit Camp, the clubhouse and trails that truly sets us apart. The feedback is consistent: This is the most welcoming, vibrant community they’ve ever been part of.”
Signature dining events fill the social calendar, from the elegant 20,000-square-foot clubhouse, with its top-tier wine program, Northern Nevada artwork, and views over the 18th fairway to the savory American bistro fare at Bill & Ben’s.
Abundant Outdoor Adventure
Opportunities for outdoor adventure abound. The concierge team at The Outpost equips members with mountain bikes, trail guides, fishing tackle, and more. Clear Creek Tahoe maintains an 800-acre private nature preserve connecting to the surrounding national forest, with three on-site trails linking to the Tahoe Rim Trail. Members also enjoy private drift-boat fly fishing on a lively stretch of the West Walker River with reciprocal privileges at Tailwater Ranch.
Highly Sought-After Community
Only 40 minutes away from the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, Clear Creek Tahoe has proven incredibly popular. Nearly 90 percent is sold out, with more than 330 homesites spoken for, and more than 60 percent of these lots have homes that are either completed, under construction, or in the design process. Select resales and premier homesites are still available. The community spans 1,576 acres with reliable city-managed utilities and fiber-optic connectivity. Non-resident golf memberships are also offered.
Clear Creek Tahoe delivers a unique and rewarding lifestyle of world-class golf, lake and mountain adventures, and a warm, welcoming community bordered by the largest national forest outside of Alaska.
