The last U.S. Census (2020) revealed that 58% of new single-family homes are two or more stories while 42% were one story. Just a third of buyers under age 35 prefer a single-story floor plan. The percentage of buyers wanting single-story homes, however, jumps to 76% for those ages 55 to 64 and to a whopping 84% for those 65 and older.

Launch of Threads

Meta (parent of Facebook and Instagram) launched Threads this month. The new App is quickly gaining traction and is a significant threat to Twitter. The App is for text sharing and joining public conversations. Each post can be up to 500 characters long and include links, photos, and videos. It’s too early to determine demographics and estimated reach.

Growth in the Market

Google tracks search results. They are often an indicator of trends. Online search popularity for golf travel bags is maintaining at a level 30% ahead of pre-pandemic. A very good statistic indeed for golf resorts.

Tiger and Rory

Another sports powerhouse has joined the ownership ranks of the golf league being developed by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. Fenway Sports Group, owned and run by John Henry and Tom Werner, will be the second of six teams to join TGL, the primetime golf league set to begin competition in January. The league will feature six teams, consisting of three PGA Tour players each, going head-to-head in match play in an arena in Palm Beach, Florida.
